BG get your fall on

here are the fall styles that i have come up with for the BG season. i have more photos up on facebook with all fabric combinations and such. thank you to katie stafford of mary moment photography for making them look so spectacular!

a - the windy day scarf : the perfect accessory to her outfit. finish it off with a scarf that is trimmed out in pom-pom trim to give it that vintage look she was trying for. $10

b - the amelia pant: making it's second season appearance & back by popular demand! here i have taken the original ruffle pants & cracked out the ruffle like no one's business with a ruffle that starts at the knee. this is a flowy, bell-bottom style that is cute as pie on the little girls. a word to the wise, for full cuteness to occur - it is best that the tot is walking so she doesn't get lost in the fabric! $30
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 18-24 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

c - BG blossom: just another fine accessory to trend her out. this blossom is affixed on a clip so you can put it on a shirt, skirt or headband, there is no end to the fashion possibilities of this genius. $10

d - the sam skirt: just one of my newest BG original creations this year. this sam is screaming feminine & while topped off with a fabric bow, it will be the envy on the playground this year. $20
sizes: 6-12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T &4T

e - the maggie dress: new to the line-up of BG fall and an original design for my girls that sport the funnest, funkiest of frocks. this spin on the knot dress has two layers of fun fabrics, an elastic chest (allows for tons of wear over time) & a long strip of fabric that allows you to be the designer in how you want to "knot" it. $34
sizes: 6-12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

f - the ruffle pant: a staple here at BG & a best-seller for sure! this year i have made the ruffle larger to differentiate from all the other ruffled pants of the world. this is a wide-leg fit with a full ruffle that looks just about perfect with anything you can find on the BG menu. $24
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 18-24 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

g
- the jane dress: formerly known as the peasant dress, the jane is about as basic & as versatile as you get. wear it over leggings & boots to get that boho-chic style or pair it over rufflers to get the signature BG funkiness. $34
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-24 mo, 2T-3T & 4T

h - the jill frock (straps): one of BG's newest additions, this is dress-length but with an open-back that ties and straps that criss-cross. once again, BG is looking for ways to make clothing that will work with your tot for many seasons. this top rocks the house over some rufflers! $34
sizes: 6-12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

i - appliqued shirt: another one of my best sellers. i do not use an embroidery machine, so *usually* if i can draw it, i can stitch it. you be the creative one here. for additional layers or intricate designs, the price may increase. please ask when ordering. $18
sizes: (always order a size up, i use rabbit skins, for the girls email me for details and sizing on what shirts i have in stock) 12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

j
- the boys pant: not much has changed with this staple in the machos closet. it is a more tailored and straight-legged fitting pant than the girls funky wild-legs. this season i am offering it in 2 styles - the classic with cuffs and a back pocket (shown above) or without cuffs and two cargo pockets on the sides. $24
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

k - the charlie: BG took some liberties with this one as i thought that we may have more boys out there that want to try their hands at boho-chic as well. with one long strip of fabric for the knots, you be the designer. knot in front or knots in back - he will knock 'em dead for sure. i do not put snaps in my long charlie, but it is fully lined. (shown here with hand embroidery, an extra $5) $40
sizes: 6 mo, 9 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

l
- the adeline: BG's newest best-seller. this one ROCKED the spring line & has become one of my biggest requests! it is sophisticated, yet still so funky with a flirty, ruffled collar that sticks up in style. she will soon have everyone popping their collars! top (shown) $30, dress $34
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-12 mo, 2T-3T & 4T

m - the denim ruffler: this one is a must-have for your girl's closet. this is BG's infamous ruffled pant, just out of a light denim. it goes with everything you can imagine. $26
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 18-24 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

n
- the johnny: aka the "john-john" but i just wanted to get on a first-name basis with this classic. tried and true. barefoot or shoes, shirt or not - this frock has stood the test of time. i do not put snaps in the crotch of the long johnny, but it is fully-lined and i add extra length to the straps to give you extra wear. $40
sizes: 6 mo, 9 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

o - the chapman: (not shown) just a spin off the old johnny. the chapman features a square neck (note: the ONLY time BG is square) & straps almost like over-alls. grab some boots, a long-sleever & that little chap will be ready to go & fill the front pocket with all sorts of goodies. as with the charlie & johnny, i do not put snaps in the long chapman, but is is fully lined. $40
sizes: 6 mo, 9 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

p
- the jill frock (with knots & apron): the same open-backed top from above, but this one is styled with a knot-front and an apron. the back detail is shown below. $36
sizes: 6-12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

q - the lola bells: my baby of the season. these are a true-blue original to BG and cannot be found anywhere else. girls - these are not your mama's designer jeans - but i bet she wishes they were. bell-bottom blues with side stitching, ric-rac and some vintage pockets on the back. these are a must-have. back detail shown below. $32
sizes: 6mo, 12 mo, 18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

r
- man's best friend: okay, BG is uber-excited about this shirt. it is new for this year & has a great cause. for every 'man's best friend' shirt that is ordered, $5 will be given to CARA which is a no-kill shelter here in jackson, ms. grab one to match some pants, or just pick a fabric to go with anything. you cannot go wrong when the cause is so great. support your 4-legged friends & order one today! $20
sizes: see sizing info above for appliqued shirts

s - the twirly skirt: back by demand, bring on this fun, full & of course funky skirt that will have your little dancing queen twirling all day long. $20
sizes: 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 2T, 3T & 4T

fall fabrics

here they are my dears, the much anticipated fabrics for brownie-goose's Get Your Fall On '10. I have set up two photos, one that has the names of the fabrics for you to use in your orders (and you will also see the coordinating fabrics are linked with a bar running between them) and then second is just a larger photo of the fabric itself, in the same order to avoid any confusion. i hope you like them, i sure do. i went out on a limb with a few of them, but wanted to have my little models standing out from the crowd.

oh, and PS - paint by numbers is first come-first serve. i have about 12 yards of it, and it is the only 12 yards that i think even exist anymore. gotta love out of prints!

about me

brownie-goose is a collection of custom made children's clothing that has a fun, funky & vintage-inspired edge. you won't find the traditional here, so if you have a wild side and love the bright colors and bold patterns, bg will have you right at home! or if you long for the days of lace and frill, you got me.

i am the sole owner of brownie-goose. what this means to you is that i am the only seamstress here. i sew everything in my fabulous sewing room, by myself when my 4 year old and newborn are sleeping since i am also a stay-at-home mom. in other words, the brownie-goose you receive is hand-sewn by me, myself and i. custom orders will take time, and during busier times please understand that i am working as quickly as i can to get your fun orders out to you.

although i try, i am not perfect. no two items that i sew will be exactly alike. but hey, that's the beauty of hand-made clothing, right? who wants to be just like everyone? not i!

want a little history of bg? it all started november of 2008 when i decided that i would be quitting my "real job" as a pediatric nurse so that i could stay home with my little girl whose immune system just couldn't stand up to daycare. i am a 4th generation tailor in my family and so the sewing machine was nothing new to me. i began sewing for louisa as i would shop and not find a single thing i would like to dress her in. therefore, i began creating her unique outfits, and took the advice of some friends when i quit my day-job to take a go at selling some of my stuff to others. well, let's just say the rest is history!

brownie-goose is named after 2 of my 4-legged children, my labs. i have a chocolate lab (my sidekick) named mallard that we call "brownie," and a black lab (mixed with horse, she is huge) named lucy that we call "goose." enter.....brownie-goose. :)

thanks for stopping by on my site, and i hope you like what you see.

how to order

this coming fall will be the first time that i am not taking custom orders. right now while the kiddos are small, i need to work it so i can keep up at my own pace and still have plenty of time for my little rug rats. i wrote more about it all here.

i now have an etsy store in which i will put any and all inventory for sale when it gets constructed. find me here, www.browniegoose.etsy.com.

FOR DAYDREAM BELIEVER: I will be making inventory to post in my etsy AND big cartel (http://browniegoose.bigcartel.com) store. I will have more than one upload with various sizes and styles, so if you miss out the first time - you will have another chance! I will always update facebook to let you know about an upload. To see the collection, either go to facebook and look for the album titled "Daydream Believer" or click on the tab at the top of my website. :)

keep up to date on BG and follow me on facebook for all the newest updates and info from BG.

although i would love to sew for every person that asks, it simply cannot happen since i am a one-woman show.

thanks so much for all of your continued support here at BG!
